Discipleship at Work with Michael Rhodes (WEBINAR RECORDING)
Explore how churches and leaders can disciple others for kingdom living at work. 3 webinars.
Description
Disciples of Jesus are called to live as citizens of God’s kingdom in every area of their lives. Unfortunately, Christians often sense a disconnect between their spiritual life and their work life, and pastors and church leaders struggle to help people gain a vision for seeking God’s kingdom in their workplace. In this webinar series, we will explore how churches and leaders can disciple others for kingdom living at work. Michael Rhodes will offer teaching and ideas on how we can help God’s people promote the common good, seek economic justice, care for the created world, and love their neighbours at work. This webinar will also include guest speakers who share how they are living as disciples in their own workplaces.
Note: As this is a recording of a live webinar series, the quality is not as good as a professionally filmed resource.
Presenter
Dr Michael Rhodes is a lecturer in Old Testament at Carey Baptist College. Michael’s passion is to help the church hear and respond to Scripture’s call to embody God’s justice and mercy on behalf of the marginalized. This passion inspired Michael and his wife Rebecca’s decision to live, work, and worship in an economically impoverished community for the ten years prior to his coming to Carey in 2021. Interest in how the church might become a community of justice and mercy also fueled Michael’s dissertation research on moral formation and economic ethics in biblical meals, as well as his current research project on moral formation for justice in Scripture. Michael is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
