This series will help pastors to utilise the power of their emotions so that they can sustain a long-term, satisfying and effective ministry. 4 webinars.
Description
Pastoral work is often stressful and emotionally demanding. It’s therefore not surprising that studies show that emotional exhaustion, depression, and anxiety, are high amongst the pastoral profession. This webinar series will provide 7 keys that will help pastors manage and utilise the power of their emotions so that they can sustain a long-term, satisfying and effective ministry. It will also help them to navigate events in pastoral ministry that will challenge their emotional well-being, so that they can not only survive, but thrive in pastoral ministry.
Presenter
Dr Glenn Melville directs the Carey Centre for Lifelong Learning to provide on-going training and resources that equip Christian leaders and churches to thrive. This involves developing an annual curriculum of non-formal learning options beyond Carey’s NZQA programmes, managing Baptist Registration, overseeing Carey Podcasts, and developing public facing events such as ‘Carey Conversations.’ Glenn worked in sales and marketing for corporate multi-nationals before commencing pastoral ministry in the role of associate pastor and then as interim senior pastor. He recently completed a PhD investigating the well-being of pastoral leaders in New Zealand and has a passion to see Christian leaders and churches thriving!
