Why is this whole intergenerational thing worth pursuing and what might it mean for us as the gathered church in Aotearoa? This webinar was designed to pique interest about the theory and practice of church life, taking an intergenerational stance.
Presenters
Rachel Roche co-ordinates and teaches Carey's Internships and Field Education papers. She oversees study in Children and Family Leadership. Rachel recently graduated with a Master in Applied Theology with a focus on families and faith formation. Until the end of 2013 Rachel was working as the Pastor for Family Ministries at Northpoint Baptist Church in New Plymouth and completed her theological studies through Carey as a distance student whilst working full-time. Prior to this she worked in a Brethren Church and she has been a primary school teacher. She has been heavily involved in all aspects of church leadership – although families and children within the church and community are her special focus. See Rachel's academic profile here...
Sam Kilpatrick has been involved in various Baptist churches over the years, both as a volunteer and as a paid pastoral leader. He has a deep love for the local church. Sam has been on staff at Carey for ten years and is currently working as the Youth Pastoral Leadership trainer and co-ordinator of Community Life. He also lectures and researches in the area of youth ministry. Sam is a member of Royal Oak Baptist Church where, among other things, he serves on the leadership team as an elder.
