The Changing Face of Global Mission with Emma Stokes (WEBINAR RECORDING)
Explore ideas and patterns of engagement for churches and individuals interested in navigating the changing global environment as faithful participants in God’s redemptive mission. 3 webinars.
Description
The rapid change in our local and global context means we can no longer do ‘mission as usual’. Churches and individuals are often confronted by the complex dynamic of high needs in the local community and deep questions about the viability of global mission in a post-colonial context. There is growing uncertainty about not just how, but if, we should be involved in global mission at all. This webinar will explore the biblical and theological impetus for mission engagement in conversation with shifts in world Christianity. Emma will be joined by other scholars and mission practitioners to provide a variety of perspectives on significant global mission trends and what these mean for the church in Aotearoa. She will offer ideas and patterns of engagement for churches and individuals interested in navigating the changing global environment as faithful participants in God’s redemptive mission.
Note: As this is a recording of a live webinar series, the quality is not as good as a professionally filmed resource.
