What has Grace to do with Economics?
Explore Biblical notions of wealth and ownership in the light of the giftedness of all things through grace, and explore implications for current economic practice. 2 webinars, starting 4th June, 7:30pm, 2025.
Description
In these two webinars, we will use the New Testament (especially Paul) to explore notions of wealth and ownership in the light of the giftedness of all things through grace. The structures of grace and reciprocity have much to say about the common good, including the purpose of business, the ideology of capital, and the ways we configure human flourishing. A theological frame proves essential for moving beyond the multiple dysfunctions of the modern economy.
Note: This webinar series is based on a public lecture at Carey Baptist College in 2024. John Barclay will be developing key themes from this lecture in more detail, including the implications for our current economic practices. There will also be the opportunity for Q&A. The special pricing of the series reflects this.
